Arsenal Looking At Three German DMs

This week Arsenal have had a bid of £1.6m rejected by Legia Warsaw for 17-year-old defensive midfielder Krystian Bielik. Arsenal manager, Arsène Wenger, had Bielik at London Colney over Christmas for a tour and made an initial £1.2m offer for him at the time.

In recent days Arsenal have stepped up their interest and although the player is keen on the proposed transfer despite most likely dropping down to academy level having played first-team football for Legia the Polish club are unwilling to let their star prospect leave on the cheap and are holding out for £2.4m.

Already standing at 6ft 2in tall, Bielik can can play at centre-half as well as in midfield and similar to Calum Chambers is willing to gain experience in other positions. Arsenal's well documented need for a defensive midfielder added to rival interest from Roma is pushing up the price so Wenger will want to get a deal done quickly as spending a lot of time and effort in a bidding war for a prospect for the future, rather than an immediate solution, would not go down well with the fans.

Bielik has only played a few matches for the Legia first team but he could be a surprise package that Arsène throws into the first team should he get his target.
