Earlier on in the season Arsenal beat Liverpool at Anfield courtesy of a beautiful Robert Pires goal that curled into the corner of their goal. Liverpool were looking for revenge and at half-time they were 2-1 up and Arsenal, fresh off FA Cup and Champions League exits, looked as though their unbeaten ambitions were about to fail. The second half saw some of the best football Highbury has ever witnessed and Arsenal reigned victorious with a 4-2 win and a 7 point lead at the top of the table.

With the title already won it would have been normal to see the new champions take their foot off the gas but Arsenal still had something to play for and on the final day of the 2003/04 Premier League season Arsenal cemented their place in the history books with a 2-1 win over Leicester to leave an unforgettable league table reading P38 W26 D12 L0.
