How Arsenal Can Boost Their Warchest With A Few Budget Squad Signings - Goalkeepers
Goalkeeper
Losing Fabianski is going to be a big blow. He is, by a country mile, the best number 2 in the country and will make a fantastic number 1 for the club that he chooses to join. Viviano will return to Palermo this summer also, leaving Szczesny as the only recognised senior keeper in the squad. It would be a momumental risk to start next season with Szczesny and two youth keepers as his back-up. With that in mind, here are a couple of options to help keep Wojciech on his toes and give us a reliable and tested alternative should he dip in form, grow cocky to a fault or get injured.
Kasper Schmeichel - The 27 year old son of Danish legend, Peter Schmeichel, is out of contract this summer and is rumoured to be talking to Arsenal. Experienced, calm and more than moderately talented, Kasper would make a reliable number 2 and best of all he is available for free.

Guillermo Ochoa - Currently plying his trade with AC Ajaccio, this Mexican international is also available on a free and like Schmeichel, at 28 he is experienced enough to be a viable back-up keeper to Szczesny and even direct competition. He has been linked with Arsenal for many years so you can be certain the scouts have done plenty of homework on him. Strong positioning skills, excellent reflexes and commanding in the air - what more could you ask for from a player who will cost nothing?
Depending on relegations keepers such as Stekelenberg, Stockdale, Ruddy and Marshall could be available on the cheap.
