Fernando Amorebieta - Hangeland's Fulham team-mate and previous Arsenal target. Why would we want players who are in grave danger of being relegated? Surely we can do better? We probably can but do we want to spend £15m+ on a squad defender? Just because they have been relegated it doesn't make them bad players. Most of the time it is an indicator of a poorly managed team or a lack of talent in the squad. Amorebieta interested us when he was at Bilbao so it's not a big stretch to imagine Arsenal taking a second look, especially is he is available at relegation firesale prices.

Joelon Lescott - Is he the best defender in the country? No. Is he a decent player available on a free transfer who could put in a shift if someone was injured or suspended? Yes. He has won trophies at City and as has been mentioned before, it is important to remember these players aren't going to replace Mertesacker or Koscielny, just support them.

If Arsenal wanted to splash the cash they could look to Howedes, Ginter or N'Koulou - Or make an audacious bid for Ramos. Or we could just recall Djourou and re-sign Senderos ;)
