Arsenal Get Bayern In ECL - Pep Won't Like That

So the Champions League draw has been made and Arsenal's opponents in Group F are; Bayern Munich, Olympiakos and Dinamo Zagreb.

It's a bit of an anti-climax for anyone who has been eagerly anticipating the draw as Arsenal once again face Bayern Munich and will play against a club they've face more times since the move to the Emirates than they have half of their rival London clubs. Olympiakos are in the same group as Arsenal for the 4th time out of the past 7 seasons.

On the face of it the obvious concern is overcoming Bayern to claim top spot in the group and many are already resigned to seeing the Gunners settle for second. This isn't a huge negative as at the very least we won't be facing Bayern in the knockout stage and might have a half decent chance at getting to the quarter-finals - but then again we felt the same against Monaco last season.

Top spot in the group isn't beyond our reach though. Pep Guardiola isn't a fan of playing Arsenal and we're a vastly better team than the ones who gave his boys a number of scares and close calls in his relatively short managerial career. If Arsenal can hit their stride ahead of facing Bayern for the first time there is every chance they could claim a scalp.

In other news Chelsea has once again managed to fluke a favourable draw against European giants like Porto, Kiev and Tel Aviv. Manchester United have a tough group for the quality of player they have, facing CSKA Moscow, PSV and Wolfsburg - here's hoping to a humbling courtesy of the Lord.

The Champions League is feeling a touch dull these days and groups full of familiar foes isn't helping to return any of its sheen. From a neutral perspective the best group to enjoy will be Group D with Manchester City, Juventus, Sevilla and Monchengladbach.

I don't know about you guys but I'm not feeling particularly excited by this years' Champions League.
